University Book Store construction project nears completion

Shelly Leonard

Phase one of renovations to the Memorial Union are nearly completed.

This section of the expansion will provide an extra 10,000 square feet of space housing textbooks, general books and some ISU clothing and gifts.

The bookstore will remain open for customers, and entrance to the new addition will be accessible through the current bookstore.

Customers will see many changes in the next months, one of these being the demolition of the south wall of the book store. Textbooks will be moved during the month of May, and the art supply area will move to the front of the store in the next several weeks. Checkouts will remain in the same location until Phase III of the project.

Upon completion, the book store will have nearly doubled in size and will offer a better product selection and more room to shop. Completion of the entire project is expected by January 2008.
