A compilation of visual images taken April 17 and 18 at the 2004 Veishea riot will be presented Tuesday in a 40-minute video presentation by a Veishea 2004 task force working group.

Working Group 1 of the Veishea task force has gathered images and visual recordings of the riot from Web sites, law enforcement agencies, private individuals and media onto a DVD.

It will be shown at a public meeting 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in 2390 Beardshear Hall.

The DVD is one example of the group’s efforts to fulfill its mission of piecing together a comprehensive picture of what transpired through the course of the night April 17 into the early morning hours on April 18 in Campustown.

The working group will use the visual recording, in conjunction with responses it has received from a mass e-mail survey asking those present to relay their accounts of the riot, to form a complete chronology of events, said Dean of Students Pete Englin, who is a member of the task force executive committee.

Englin said through grouping and categorizing the many diverse perspectives listed in the less than 180 responses by time and location, the task force hopes to gain a better understanding and picture of the underlying issues that led to the riot.
