Cyclone Hockey hit the ice again Friday night to play the Colorado State University Rams for the first time this season. The Cyclones shut out the Rams 3-0.

The first period saw many chances for the Cyclones and included a power play, but remained scoreless.

Junior forward/defenseman David Rutkowski scored the first goal of the game for the Cyclones and his first of the season just 3:17 into the second period. Less than three minutes later, senior forward Tony Uglem tallied another goal to make the score 2-0 with 14 minutes left in the period. The teams headed into the second intermission with a 2-0 score.

The Cyclones got a power play chance with 11:30 left in the third period, which they capitalized on in 19 seconds. Senior forward Colton Kramer deflected senior defenseman Nick Sandy’s shot to make the score 3-0.

Kramer’s goal went on to be the last goal scored in the game. The Cyclones will close out the series against the Rams on Saturday at 7:30.
