With the drop of the first trailer for “Frozen II” on Wednesday, audiences everywhere have already begun theorizing what it could be about.

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck’s 2013 film “Frozen” became an immediate box office hit. Grossing $1.219 billion dollars during its run in theaters in America, it became the fifth highest grossing movie of all time while simultaneously becoming the highest grossing animated movie ever.

“Frozen” followed sisters Anna, voiced by Kristen Bell, and Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel as they try to undo the permanent winter that Elsa accidentally curses the town of Arendelle with.

“Frozen” became a household name due to its popularity. There was no chance Disney would allow a money-making sequel to never happen.

In an interview with “Radio Times,” Bell gave fans an interesting perspective of the new movie.

“They [the producers of Frozen] waited so long because they were not intent on settling, and they didn’t want another quote unquote ‘episode’ of Frozen, where somebody gets in trouble, and somebody saves them,” Bell said. “This is a deeper story, much like the first one.”

Fans are taking Bell’s word to heart as they begin to speculate on what “Frozen II” could be about.

Based on the abundant imagery of autumn leaves and colors, another character, possibly Anna, may be revealed to have similar powers to Elsa; following along with season-themed abilities.

Another popular theory on Twitter is the possibility of Elsa having a same-sex love interest. There are two new characters revealed in the trailer and the majority of the internet seems to believe the new female character is going to be Elsa’s girlfriend.

“Frozen II” hits theaters in the United States on Nov 22, 2019.
