Inter-Residence Hall Association’s current leaders will pass the gavel to the president-elect Thursday.

Keith Twombley and Jessi Raim will take the reins as president and vice president after the meeting. Dave Boike, IRHA vice president, said he will relinquish his duties to the two at the close of the meeting, which is the last one this semester.

“I will pass the gavel to Jessi, and Keith and Jessi will officially become the IRHA president and vice president,” Boike said.

Twombley will also announce his choice of new cabinet members for the fall at the meeting, which will then be reviewed and voted on by the IRHA Parliament.

Those Twombley is proposing to serve on his cabinet include: Heather Minish, director of conferences; Mark Klein, director of information technology; Kate Rasing, secretary; Dan Burke, Free Friday Flicks treasurer; Clayton Johanson, Free Friday Flicks president; and Annette Barbato, director of finances.

This will be Rasing’s first real involvement with IRHA; she currently lives in Hawthorn Court.

Twombley said he is also excited to begin working on his duties as IRHA president.

“[This summer] I’m required to make biweekly visits to the IRHA office, but I’m not required to begin work,” he said.

“However, I do plan to over the summer since I’ll be here. I think it’s important to get the ball rolling.”

Thursday’s meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Gallery Room of the Memorial Union. The following will be discussed:

A proposal to remove the director of academic affairs position from the IRHA cabinet.

A proposal asking the requirements be changed for a student interested in applying for the director of conferences position.

A proposal requesting $8,000 for students to put together a bid for the 2004 National Association of College and University Residence Halls Conference.
