The ISU softball team’s doubleheader scheduled for yesterday against the University of Missouri-Kansas City was rained out.

No re-schedule date was given but the Cyclones will return to action today against the rival Iowa Hawkeyes.

The game is scheduled for 4 p.m at the Southwest Athletic Complex.

Iowa State will bring an overall 10-19 record into the game while the Hawkeyes, ranked No. 12, sport a 30-7 record.

Last year the Cyclones were swept by the intrastate rivals as Iowa barely defeated Iowa State 3-1 and 4-3 in two meetings.

Iowa State is on a two-game losing streak, after suffering two losses to Texas A&M over the weekend.

The Cyclones have three batters hitting over .300 on the year. Sophomore Erica Martinez is hitting .333 and leads the team with 29 hits, five home runs and 16 RBI. Laura Browning is batting .333 as well and senior co-captain Kimi Yoshizawa owns a .318 average on the year.
