Religion personal, not for letters to the editor

Noah Banwarth

That was a very clever letter, Dan Nguyen. You sure showed that guy. Was it just me, or were you using some sarcasm in there? Whoa, I just used some. I don’t understand why “Bible thumpers” feel the need to put themselves over other people. I thought the whole point of religion is to find a personal path to contentment, not to one up somebody in the Daily with a holier-than-thou letter to the editor. If you are truly living the virtues of your religion, you wouldn’t even be tempted to write a letter like that. But maybe that’s the problem. Perhaps you’re still struggling with your own beliefs and preaching in this manner somehow helps you deal with what your feeling. Whatever. Before I get jumped on by 10,000 maniac Christians, let me point out that I understand that not all religious people are like this. Most people who make an effort to talk to me about Christianity are very polite, patient and listen to what I have to say. They state their point of views and let me draw my own conclusions. These types of people have the greatest impact on my beliefs. They prove to me that you can indeed find contentment and happiness through religion. But when I read a pointless rant like yours, it’s a major turn off. Thanks for proving Nichols’ point. I wonder if the Bible says it’s a sin to make people feel like that? Maybe you could look that one up and get back to me. Damn, there I go with the sarcasm again. Noah Banwarth
