Beer will be flowing once again at Cy’s Roost and Lost and Found Lounge, 121 Welch Ave.The bars, which had their liquor license revoked in November, have waited the 60-day suspension period and will be able to serve alcoholic beverages Friday, said Judy Parks, assistant city attorney. The Alcohol Beverages Division in Ankeny suspended the Cy’s Roost, Lost and Found and Don’s Deli liquor license for 60 days after a series of alcohol violations.Patrick Greene, owner of the bars, was charged with three counts of bootlegging and three counts of supplying alcohol to minors after Cy’s Roost sponsored several tailgate parties in 1999.”We’re glad to be open and our employees are too,” Greene said. “A lot of customers are here making sure we will be open [on Friday].”Parks said there will be no limitations on the liquor license for Cy’s Roost, Don’s Deli and Lost and Found.”Once their license is out of suspension, they can commence business as before,” she said.Parks also said there won’t be any unusual checks at the bar.”The special-operations police will be going on in randomly as they always do, but I wouldn’t say [Cy’s Roost will] get any special attention,” she said.Greene said some extra work has gone into the reopening of Cy’s.”We’ve up-graded quite a bit, but we’re still trying to keep the same atmosphere,” he said. “We’ve put in a lot of hours.”
