Letter to the editor: Ban Christianity

Paul Hattan

The recent debate over the merits of the Chinese government’s move to ban Falun Gong has been quite thought-provoking. Obviously, the Chinese government, well-known for its fairness on human rights issues, is exercising correct and humane judgement.

Perhaps the American government could learn a thing from the Chinese. Christianity, with its history steeped in violence, has become a source of violence in our populace and should be banned.

Do not get me wrong, I used to be a Christian, so I can speak freely on the topic and everything I say is the truth.

I will liberally add references to my favorite books, which I can assure you speak nothing but the truth.

Did you know that 86.57 percent of all Christians never attend mass? Are you aware that somewhere a Christian commits a murder-rape every .83 seconds (Matthew 1:69)? This means that thousands of Christians are currently killing someone. Did you know that Hitler was a Christian (Mien Kampf 2:61)?

I once heard a story about a Christian who committed murder-suicide by carrying his wife off of a 42nd floor balcony (Fizer 1:12). This demonstrates without a doubt that Christianity is wrong and should never be practiced.

Freedom of religion is overrated. The Chinese have it right. If a religion sounds kooky, ban it. It is about time that we followed the lead of our Chinese brothers and banned Christianity. Who needs freedom of religion anyway?
