Iowa State struggles in day one at the Prestige

Iowa State golf began day one of competition at the Prestige at the PGA West Monday afternoon. 

Iowa State struggled on day one, ending the first day in 14th place out of 16 teams.

The Cyclones shot 302 (18 over) for the day, with one golfer shooting under par.

Iowa State shot 28 bogies with 11 birdies for the first round.

Lachlan Barker was the standout from an otherwise bad first day for the Cyclones, shooting 1 under for the day and is tied for 11th individually.

The rest of the scores were as follows:

  • Tripp Kinney:  Shot 11 over for the day and is in 80th place
  • Frank Lindwall: Shot 9 over for the day and is in 75th place
  • Sam Vincent: Carded a 6 over for the day and is in 56th place
  • Ricky Costello: Shot 4 over for the first round and is in a tie for 42nd place individually

Iowa State continues competition tomorrow afternoon at the Prestige at the PGA West.
