More e-mail solutions for ISU Netizens

Seth Bokelman

W. Scott Thune’s letter suggests using mh as an alternative to Eudora, but honestly, that’s hardly a user-friendly solution.

For all of you who have problems using ISU’s e-mail system, try what I did. I switched to a free service called Net@dress, and no, I don’t own any of their stock or anything.

A number of students also have Hotmail accounts already and probably don’t realize that they can have their ISU e-mail delivered to their Hotmail accounts, which will reduce the load on ISU’s servers and provide a little more user-friendly e-mail system than Project Vincent currently provides.

To forward your e-mail somewhere else, log into vincent, then enter the following string: chpobox -s [email protected] Change the [email protected] to whatever your e-mail address is, realize that this will take overnight to take effect, but then your e-mail will automatically be sent to the new address you specified.

I choose to use Net@dress over Hotmail simply because you can also use Eudora or Outlook Express to check your mail and send and receive attachments as well as access your mail over the Web.

Anyone who would like further help with this, or has any questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
