The first ISU AfterDark event of the semester will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday in the Memorial Union. Stand-up comedian Ismo Leikola and actor Jesse Eisenberg will be making guest appearances.

Eisenberg is best known for his performances in “Zombieland,” “Now You See Me” and “The Social Network.” In addition to being a talented actor, Eisenberg is also an author and playwright. He is the creator of the plays “The Spoils,” “The Revisionist” and “Happy Talk.”

Eisenberg will be holding a Q&A at 11 p.m., answering questions and discussing his personal and professional career and quite possibly talking about his upcoming works. While he has been confirmed to appear in “Justice League Part Two” and “The Medusa,” not much is known about the release dates of these films nor their synopses.

Eisenberg is sure to bring some comedy to his dialogue, as he did in an interview with “IndieWire” about his acting career.

“I think for all the things that people get stopped on the street for, mine is one of the best,” Eisenberg told IndieWire. “Which is that they saw me in something kind of benign that they remember seeing on television”.

Preceding Eisenberg at 9 p.m. is Ismo Leikola, a Finnish stand-up comedian who has been pursuing comedy as a career since 2002. In the duration of his career, he has filmed and starred in two seasons of his own comedy sitcom “ISMO” and has filmed three DVD specials from 2008 to 2016. His popularity grew quickly throughout his career, as he has sold out many concert halls and theaters across the United Kingdom and Finland.

Leikola made his United States debut in 2014 with his appearance at the “Laugh Factory” comedy club in Hollywood where he earned the title “The Funniest Person in the World.”

Leikola’s comedy is best known as “observational” comedy. He is able to make the audience see newer and funnier perspectives on familiar topics. In 2019, Leikola teamed up with Merriam-Webster to film a digital series about roasting the English language.

Additional activities at ISU AfterDark will be free Panda Express, a photo booth, a galaxy jars Workspace craft, poster sale, a silent disco, CyBowl, billiards and a chance to win a $1000 raffle. All activities, including the guest performances, are free at ISU AfterDark.
