Most Iowa State student organizations are eligible to receive funding from the Senate.

Student Government unanimously approved funding for the Blood Drive during a brief Senate meeting on Wednesday.

Other agenda items were postponed due to inclement weather. The meeting met a quorum with 20 senators in attendance.

The Senate allotted $431 to Blood Drive, a student organization that organizes annual fall and spring blood drives, to help them with expenses including a room rental, barricades and a mass email. This bill passed with a vote of 20-0.

Fredrickson Court Senator Khushi Patel, a sophomore majoring in finance, introduced the bill. A Blood Drive representative could not attend, so the bill was represented by finance director Kit Clayburn, a senior majoring in animal ecology.

The spring Blood Drive will occur from March 6 to 8 in the Memorial Union.
