As the Cyclones prepare to take on Drake Sunday, they will be without one of their players for the rest of the season.
Forward Izzi Zingaro has decided to step away from the team for the remainder of the season, as she deals with her health and her focus on graduating in May.
Zingaro did not make an appearance in the Cyclones’ exhibition win over Truman State or in their season-opening win against Butler.
In her three seasons at Iowa State, Zingaro averaged 2.8 points per game on 44.8% shooting, with an average of two rebounds, on an average of 6.8 minutes played per game.
At the tail end of last season, as Iowa State lost starting center Stephanie Soares, Zingaro saw more playing time. There were many matchups where Zingaro helped the Cyclones put together wins with her presence under the rim.
