With less than 45 days left in the spring semester, students have key dates to keep an eye on, including when they can drop a course.
Course registration began Tuesday for some students and will continue to open at different times, depending on classification.
Friday is the last day to add or drop a full-semester course or withdraw without extenuating circumstances. Friday is also the last day to change a full-semester course to or from a pass/not pass status.
The same deadline applies for students who wish to change to pass/not pass. Students should consult with an academic adviser for permission or advice if they are considering dropping or switching a class to pass/not pass.
After Friday, classes may only be dropped for extenuating circumstances such as medical absences, active duty or family emergencies and must have the approval of the student’s academic adviser and dean of their college.
April 19 is the last day to change a second half-semester course to or from pass/not pass.
Drop limits were removed in 2022, a Faculty Senate change to make policy more consistent with other institutions.
Prep week is from April 29 to May 3.

Friday is the last day to file a Designation of Repeated Course form for a full semester or second half-semester course that is not an automatically designated repeat.
Friday is also the last day for students in the Graduate College to cancel spring 2024 graduation.
Registration for the summer term will take place on AccessPlus, while registration for the fall 2024 semester will take place on Workday.
Course numbers have changed from three digits to four digits with the switch to Workday, which helps to accommodate the College of Veterinary Medicine and ensure departments do not run out of available course numbers.
Graduation for the spring semester will take place May 11 for undergraduates, May 9 and 10 for graduate college students and May 10 for students in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Final grades are due May 14.
