A local ice cream franchise, “The Outside Scoop,” opened a truck serving the Ames area. Originating in 2010 in Indianola, this ice cream company has spread from a single shop to owning and operating two scoop shops and 12 trucks out of different communities. They are also planning on expanding to have trucks out of state.
The bright pink truck of “The Outside Scoop” is something that catches the attention of ice cream lovers and passersby alike. Ames residents may recognize them from occasional events they had traveled to serve at, but will now be seeing their truck around the community much more often.
“Our ice cream stands out because it is truly homemade,” Jaedon Murphy, the owner and events manager at The Outside Scoop, said. “Every batch is crafted from scratch by our hardworking production team, using real ingredients to create bold, unforgettable flavors.”
On their trucks, they offer single and double scoops with over 12 different flavors of ice cream to choose from. They also have edible cookie dough and ice cream cookie sandwiches available in monster cookie and chocolate chip flavors.
“We’re passionate about delivering joy through our ice cream–and proud to foster the young leaders who help make it all happen,” Murphy said.
They offer the option to book their trucks for events in the community. They have done events like weddings, birthdays, corporate parties and more. Learn more about their booking process here.
