7Brew Coffee opened in West Ames on June 30. Since then, it’s been a destination for coffee lovers all across Ames. 

The first week of its opening featured free large drinks, coffee lovers lined up around the block, and the smell of espresso from a mile away. 

The chain coffee restaurant is known for its variety of iced coffees, lemonades, fizz drinks, smoothies, milkshakes and teas. Customers can order anything from a classic cold brew to a “signature 7Energy.”

“I think it’s good to have options,” Iowa State senior Rob Ibarra said. “I’m always in favor of trying something new, especially when it comes to coffee. 

According to the company’s website, the first location was opened in 2017. Since then, its mission has been “cultivating kindness” one drink at a time. 

“We believe people are priceless,” a statement from the website reads. “Take a ship of any drink and joy hits you just as hard as that double-shot of espresso.”

Students and locals alike express a mix of intrigue, curiosity and excitement around having a new 7Brew location. 

“When I first heard about it, I was in favor,” Ibarra said. “It’s relatively trendy and the drinks have something for everyone.”

Some, like junior Ashlyn Soy, have been enjoying 7Brew for years. According to Soy, she’s a regular at locations outside of Iowa. 

“I’ve had great experiences with their staff,” Soy said. “The experiences with the staff make you want to return, and gives you something to feel good about when you’re in line for a drink.”

7Brew offers a list of promotions throughout the year, including Jackpot Day, where customers were able to get two medium drinks for $8. Other promotions are announced on Facebook.
