While hype is building around five-star prospect and Iowa State freshman Ashley Joens, it was Ashley’s sister who had the spotlight on Thursday.

Aubrey Joens announced her commitment to Iowa State on Twitter. The Iowa City native is scheduled to join her older sister a couple years down the road, as Joens is a class of 2020 prospect.

Joens is a 5-foot-8 guard and averaged 12.9 points per game last season. In her sophomore season of high school, Joens shot 38 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 74 percent from the charity stripe.
