The Iowa State Cyclones will travel to Durham, New Hampshire, on Sunday to compete in a quad meet at the Whittemore Center Arena against Air Force, Bridgeport and the host New Hampshire.
The meet will mark Iowa State’s third consecutive competition on the road and its final multi-team meet of the 2026 season.
The Cyclones enter the weekend with a 1–3 overall record and a clean slate in Big 12 competition. Iowa State is looking to build on its recent momentum against a competitive field.
Last weekend, the Cyclones placed third at the Border Battle hosted by the University of Iowa. Iowa State fell to Iowa and Illinois but defeated Illinois State, finishing with a season-high team score of 195.425, an improvement of more than two points from the previous week.
The Cyclones also opened the season with a loss to Missouri, but consistent progress across events has been encouraging as the season continues.
Several Iowa State gymnasts delivered standout performances at the Border Battle. Redshirt junior Kaia Bochow and sophomore all-around competitor Frederique Sgarbossa tied for a team-high 9.85 on uneven bars, with Bochow earning a career-high score.
Junior all-around gymnast Noelle Adams also made an impact, posting a 9.825 on floor exercise to help anchor the Cyclones’ lineup.
Currently ranked No. 39 in the NCAA, Iowa State holds the highest overall ranking among the four teams competing in the quad meet. The Cyclones are ranked No. 33 on vault, No. 45 on bars, No. 43 on beam and No. 35 on floor.
A strong performance in Durham would give Iowa State valuable confidence heading into its first Big 12 meet of the season against the University of Utah in Ames, which will also mark the program’s first-ever televised meet.
Air Force enters the quad meet after a strong season-opening performance, highlighted by a 49.205 on uneven bars, tying the fifth-best bars score in program history. The Falcons are led by returning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year Maggie Slife, who competed all-around in the opening meet and finished with a 39.425.
Bridgeport brings experience and depth to the competition, returning four of its six All-Gymnastics East Conference honorees from last season. Senior Abby Kenney leads the Purple Knights after earning all-conference recognition in every event in 2025. Bridgeport is also coming off its best finish at the GEC Championships, placing third overall with a team score of 193.150.
The meet will also serve as New Hampshire’s home opener for the 2026 season. The Wildcats opened the year with a 194.500, nearly a 2.5-point improvement over last season’s opening meet, and will look to continue that upward trend in front of a home crowd.
The quad meet is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at Whittemore Center Arena in Durham, New Hampshire. The meet will be available to stream on America East TV and ESPN+.
