Michael Leslie Jr., arrested for sexual exploitation of a minor and invasion of privacy, received a 30-day prison sentence.
Leslie slid a phone camera under the door of a juvenile female’s dressing room at the Ames Target on Feb. 24, 2025.
Per the criminal complaint, the victim confronted Leslie before police arrived. She believed she was filmed while she was “nude or in a state of undress.”
The police obtained a search warrant and recovered images of the victim from Leslie’s phone.
In addition to the juvenile’s images, the police found images of three adult women with dates marked Feb. 15, 16 and 17.
According to court documents, on Jan. 5, Leslie pled guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of invasion of privacy. The court dismissed two counts of invasion of privacy.
Per Iowa Code, sexually exploiting a minor is a Class B felony carrying a maximum 25-year prison sentence. Leslie negotiated a guilty plea deal and will serve 30 days in prison.
