Outside linebacker was a need for the Cyclones in the 2019 recruiting class. On Saturday, Matt Campbell and co. took a step in the right direction with the commitment of Caleb Johnson.

Johnson announced his commitment on Twitter Saturday afternoon.

Johnson, who will graduate from Fullerton College in December, is a 3-star outside linebacker and a player who will get the opportunity to play right away in the 2019 season.

After the 2018 season, the Cyclones will lose current outside linebackers Reggan Northrup and Wille Harvey.

Johnson is the Cyclones’ 18th commitment of the 2019 class, and the second in two days following the addition of 4-star running back Jirehl Brock on Saturday.
