The Iowa State Patrol is investigating an accident that occurred Wednesday where a motorcyclist struck an 80-year-old pedestrian crossing the street.
The Ames Police Department responded to a call at 8:01 p.m. on Lincoln Way and South Russell Avenue.
The pedestrian was flown to MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines. Their condition remains unknown.
The motorcyclist received treatment at Mary Greeley Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ames Police Department is unaware whether the pedestrian crossed the street at a crosswalk or if the pedestrian had the right of way.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ames Police and Story County Sheriff’s Department.
