Senior forward Joshua Jefferson earned his spot on the Associated Press All-American Second Team Tuesday. This marks the third straight season where a Cyclone has earned the honor.
Before Jefferson, senior guard Tamin Lipsey and former Cyclone guard Curtis Jones earned the honors in 2024 and 2025. This is the first time since 1986-88 that Iowa State has earned a three-peat.
Jefferson, more specifically, is the first Cyclone since Georges Niang (2016) to earn a first, second or third-team placement.
Additionally, Jefferson has been named to the All-Big 12 Team and the First Team All-American.
This season, Jefferson is averaging 16.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Jefferson is the only player in the Power Conferences to do so this season and the first ever in Big 12 history.
Despite the honor, something on the agenda looks bigger than being an All-American: The NCAA Tournament. Iowa State will head south to St. Louis for the opening rounds.
Jefferson and the Cyclones return to the court Friday as they take on the Tennessee State Tigers at 1:50 p.m at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
