Another Cyclone will miss time this summer due to injury.

Iowa State men’s basketball transfer guard Prentiss Nixon will be undergoing surgery to repair bone spurs in his left ankle. Travis Hines of the Ames Tribune had the news first. Nixon is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks of action.

Nixon is the second Cyclone in a matter of days to require surgery, as Iowa State announced last week that Zion Griffin will miss 3-to-5 weeks with a meniscus tear in his knee.

Nixon did not play in Sunday’s first weekend of the Cap City League. Nixon is redshirting this season after transferring in from Colorado State, and he will have one year of eligibility in 2019-20.
