How to accept your admission and apply for scholarships at Iowa State

The first step to beginning at Iowa State is pretty straightforward: accept your offer of admission.

This can be done easily online. Using the university ID and password that came in your offer letter that Iowa State sent you, log in to AccessPlus, and it will prompt you to complete the acceptance form.

You also can pay the acceptance fee online.

Alternatively, you can print out your acceptance form and mail it, along with the acceptance fee, to the Office of Admissions.

Once you’ve paid the acceptance fee and completed the acceptance form, you’ve accepted the offer for admission at Iowa State.

You might be worrying about how to pay for college. One way to ease your mind when it comes to the financials of college is getting some scholarships.

Iowa State offers many scholarships for freshman and transfer students. These scholarships vary in amount, but every bit counts. Additionally, each of the colleges at Iowa State offers a number of scholarships to students in their college.

The deadline for most of these scholarships comes up before the start of the school year, so it’s important to try to be ahead of the curve. If you missed applying for a scholarship before your freshman year starts, don’t worry. There are a lot of options for you still.

Within each college at Iowa State, there are many departments. On top of the scholarships that the colleges offer, many departments offer financial awards.

Finding and applying for all these scholarships is fairly straightforward.

On the Iowa State Admissions website, you can access most of the general scholarships, as well as the Office of Student Financial Aid’s website. For the colleges at Iowa State, their scholarships can be found on their website.

For example, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a number of scholarships to incoming, current and transfer students.

Within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences alone, 26 departments offer various scholarships and financial awards. 

However, a majority of these have deadlines as early as December, but some are open until March or April.

It’s important to check you college’s website to make sure you aren’t missing any deadlines.

The requirements for the scholarships across all of the colleges and majors vary quite a bit from scholarship to scholarship. Each different award will lay out its specific requirements.
