On Monday, UNLV volleyball officially announced the hiring of Iowa State assistant coach Dawn Sullivan.

Sullivan elected to accept UNLV’s offer of the head coaching position, a program that finished 8-23 in 2017.

Sullivan coached at Iowa State for the last 13 years, primarily coaching the Cyclone hitters. Prior to Sullivan’s tenure at Iowa State, she played at Kansas State, earning All-American honors.

After graduation, Sullivan played professionally with the Grand Rapids Force in the United States Professional Volleyball League. At the conclusion of her playing career, Sullivan joined Illinois State as an assistant before arriving in Ames.

During Sullivan’s time as an Iowa State coach from 2005-2017, the Cyclones went 268-130 (.673), along with 12 straight appearances at the NCAA Tournament.
