Bowl game plans from home

Iowa State heads to the bowl game in Memphis, Tennessee, while students from all over plan to watch and celebrate the Cyclones. Whether students are going to the game or just sitting with friends and family to watch, the excitement of the bowl game is contagious.

“I’m planning on going Memphis to watch the game with my whole family,” said Sam Lucio, a sophomore in advertising.

Lucio’s hometown is White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and although it’s a bit of a track from Minnesota, she plans to do more than just watch the Cyclones play the Tigers.

“We are going to Memphis for a few days and want to explore while we are there, go out to eat at good restaurants and sightsee, but I would say what I’m looking forward to the most would have to be the golfing,” said Lucio.

Not everyone can make it to Memphis to watch the bowl game, but plenty of students plan to watch the game on television from all over the United States.

“I’ll be watching the liberty bowl game in my Sperry loafers, relaxing and in Arizona with my family,” said Max Rupprecht, a sophomore in business.

Rupprecht is from Des Moines, Iowa, and although he will be in Arizona for the holidays, he still plans to keep up with the bowl game.

“I plan on watching the bowl game at home with my family,” said Sam Kunde, a junior in finance.

“My cousin went to Iowa State so he plans on coming over to watch the game.”

Kunde plans on staying at home in Huntley, Illinois for the bowl game. “I will probably order some takeout and I plan on wearing my lucky Iowa State gloves, underwear, and socks.”

No matter where you are from or where you plan to be for the game, everyone can play their role and cheer on the Cyclone in their first bowl game since 2012.
