Iowa State needed to build off its dominant win over West Virginia and the Cyclones did just that on Saturday against a sputtering TCU team.

Iowa State swept the Horned Frogs (25-14, 25-17, 25-16).

The Cyclones immediately jumped all over TCU in the first set. Iowa State extended its lead to 11-3 and didn’t look back.

The Cyclones hit .522 in the first set, while holding TCU to a -.036 hitting percentage.

In the second set, the Cyclones exposed the Horned Frogs early in the set again. Iowa State’s steady offense and suffocating defense put TCU in a 14-2 hole.

The 12-point deficit was too much for the Horned Frogs. The Iowa State defense provided more stout defense, limiting TCU to a -.032 hitting percentage and totaling 6.5 blocks in the set.

After two-stellar sets from the Cyclones, TCU recollected itself in the third set. The Horned Frogs leapt out to a 5-3 lead, but the Cyclones would respond.

Iowa State scored seven-straight points to take the lead. The seven-point run would inject the Cyclone offense with some momentum.

The momentum would provide enough of a spark for the Cyclones to finish the match.
