Rakes, garbage bags and gloves came out on Thursday as the Greeks Go Green organization hosted their semiannual Lake Laverne Cleanup event.

Between noon and 4 p.m., community members were welcome to join greek members to clean Lake Laverne for the fourth semester. More than 25 volunteers participated in Thursday’s event.

“By putting on the cleanup, we wanted students to be aware of the little things they could do to take part in thinking green,” said Hannah Baysinger, junior in global resource systems and project leader of Lake Laverne Cleanup.
