Steve Prohm’s recruiting momentum continued today when Talen Horton-Tucker announced his commitment to the Iowa State Cyclones.

Horton-Tucker, a 6-foot-5-inch small forward out of Chicago, is the third commitment in the 2018 class from the state of Illinois and the fourth commitment overall.

Horton-Tucker visited Ames along with Iowa State’s three other verbal commitments for Hilton Madness on Oct. 13.

Earlier this week, he narrowed down his list to Illinois, Xavier and Iowa State.

Four-star Zion Griffin was the first commitment of the class. He was followed shortly by three-star guard Tyrese Haliburton and three-star forward/center George Conditt.

Horton-Tucker is currently ranked as the No. 109 overall player in the 2018 class according to 247Sports, which rates him as a four-star recruit. He held reported offers from schools such as Kansas, Michigan State, Georgia Tech and Xavier, among others.

Horton-Tucker is one of the top 30 small forwards in the class and will be asked to help replace the production of Donovan Jackson, Hans Brase and Jeff Beverly, who all exhaust their eligibility after this season.
