Basketball season hasn’t even started yet, but coach Steve Prohm and the Iowa State men’s basketball team have picked up some momentum.

Today, the Cyclones got their first true post player of the 2018 class with the commitment of George Conditt.

Conditt, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Chicago, chose Iowa State over offers from Illinois, New Mexico, Arizona State, Colorado and several others. He is currently rated as the No. 219 player in the class of 2018 according to 247Sports.

On September 12, four-star forward Zion Griffin became the first 2018 verbal commit for the Cyclones. His reported offer list included Kansas and Pittsburgh, among others.

Less than a week later, three-star combo guard Tyrese Haliburton announced his commitment to Iowa State.

With Conditt, Griffin and Haliburton all verbally committed, Iowa State should have one remaining open scholarship for the 2018 class, assuming there is no attrition after this season.
