The Cyclones suffered heartbreak in extra time for the second time this year.

The No.7 Florida Gators scored in overtime to turn a 1-0 Iowa State lead into a 2-1 defeat on Sunday afternoon.

Iowa State scored in the 14th minute of action, and sophomore midfielder/forward Hannah Cade opened her account for the season with a volley from the center of the 18-yard box. Junior Brooke Tasker supplied the assist.

The Cyclones were outshot 11-6 in the first half, but held their own defensively. The Gators only had two shots on target through 45 minutes.

Florida evened things up in the 56th minute, with freshman forward Deanne Rose scoring off of a corner. Senior midfielder Gabby Seiler was credited with the assist.

The second half was full of half-chances and near-misses, but neither team was able to break through in regulation.

In the sixth minute of overtime, Rose scored her second of the day to win the game for the Gators. Sophomore midfielder Parker Roberts provided the winning assist.

The Cyclones now head into Big 12 Conference play at 2-6-1 on the season.
