Iowa State Soccer downed by Baylor, starts 0-2 in Big 12 Play

The Iowa State soccer team was defeated by the Baylor Bears on Sunday, losing 1-0 in overtime on the road in Waco, TX.

Iowa State’s loss is the team’s second conference loss of the year, dropping its record to 0-2 through the first weekend of league play.

The Cyclones were also beaten by No. 17 Texas during their first Big 12 game of the year on Friday.

However, on Sunday, Iowa State and Baylor battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation before heading to overtime, forcing ISU’s fourth extra time game of the season. 

Six minutes into the extra frame, Baylor’s Lauren Piercy scored, giving the Bears the 1-0 W.

The team will return to the field this Friday when they take on the Kansas Jayhawks at the Cyclone Sports Complex. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT.
