At the Board of Regents meeting on August 2, the Property and Facilities Committee will discuss a $2.1 million project to revamp the recreational fields east of Maple-Willow Larch.

The plans include regrading the area’s 530,000 square feet, installing irrigation and providing lighting, which would allow sports clubs and intramural teams to use the fields at night for the first time.

The project will be funded by Recreational Services. The committee will only make a recommendation on the project at tomorrow’s meeting. The Property and Facilities Committee will meet from 1:30 to 2 p.m at the Board of Regents office in Urbandale.

The regular Board of Regents meeting will start at 2 p.m where there will be an update on Iowa State’s presidential search with the ISU Presidential Search and Screen Committee Co-Chair Dean Luis Rico-Gutierrez.

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed at www.iowaregents.edu. Materials for this meeting have been made available prior to the meeting here.
