The Iowa State women’s soccer team lost their third straight game on Sunday afternoon, being downed 6-1 by Minnesota.

The teams played on a neutral field in Iowa City, Iowa, challenging each other two days after the Cyclones took on the Hawkeyes.

Iowa State looked to strike first in the match in the 13th minute, but the goal was called back due to an offsides call.

Later in the 20th minute, Minnesota would take the opportunity and land themselves on the scoreboard first.

At halftime, the Gophers lead 1-0, but it would turn out to be all downhill from there for the Cyclones.

Minnesota scored five goals in the second half to earn the blowout victory.

The lone bright spot of the day for Iowa State was freshman Courtney Powell’s first goal as a Cyclone.

The team’s next game will be on Friday night on the road at South Dakota State. The game will kick off at 6:00 p.m.
