Jess Schaben receives Preseason honor

Iowa State outside hitter Jess Schaben was announced as a member of the 2017 Preseason All-Big 12 team on Wednesday.

Schaben showcased her skills last season, finishing with 349 kills at 3.36 kills per set and 242 digs at 2.33 digs per set.

Schaben is no stranger to receiving honors and awards.

Schaben was named to the 2016 All-Big 12 First Team. The American Volleyball Coaches Association voted Schaben onto an Honorable Mention All-American slot in 2016.

The Iowa native also received Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2015.

The Cyclones begin practice on August 8. Iowa State takes on Drake on August 12 at home in an exhibition.
