After a strong summer of recruiting, Iowa State received some negative news this week.

3-star Texas wide receiver Sterling Galban decommitted from Iowa State via Twitter.

Galban has picked up interest and some scholarship offers in recent weeks. Big 12 rivals such as TCU and Texas Tech have shown increased interest. Galban had been vocal on Twitter in his attempts to bring other potential recruits to Iowa State.

Galban’s decommitment leaves Iowa State with 11 verbal commits for the 2018 class.

Galban isn’t the only wide receiver to decommit from the Cyclones in recent weeks. Mississippi product C.J. Bolar also decommitted from Iowa State recently, leaving the Cyclones with just one wide receiver commit — Carson Schleker from Texas.
