No. 12 Oklahoma softball sweeps Iowa State

The No. 12 Oklahoma (31-7, 3-0 Big 12) softball team downed Iowa State (15-22, 0-6 Big 12) Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma, completing a weekend sweep of the Cyclones.

Oklahoma got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the first inning, before Iowa State took its first lead of the series with two runs in the top of the second.

The lead did not last long for the Cyclones. Oklahoma put nine runs on the board in the bottom half of the inning.

Iowa State cut the Sooner lead to six in the top of the fifth after Sami Williams hit a two-RBI to score Niki Turner and Kelsey McFarland.

Oklahoma went on to win 13-4 after a three-run home run in the sixth inning to seal the game for the Sooners.

Iowa State will return to action in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. for a double header against Nebraska.
