The Iowa State (15-25, 0-7 Big 12) dropped their first game of a weekend series against Baylor (32-6, 5-1 Big 12) Friday night in Waco, Texas.

Iowa State conceded the first run of the game in the second inning. A remarkable diving catch by Cathlin Bingham in left field held the damage to just one run in that inning.

In the next inning, Baylor would add three more runs to extend their lead to 4-0.

Kaila Konz got the Cyclones on the board in the fourth inning. She hit an inside-the-park home run to left field, her first home run of her career.

Baylor would respond with a run of their own in the fourth inning to regain a four-point lead.

Iowa State would be unable to cut into the Baylor lead, falling 5-1 to the Bears.

The Cyclones return to action Saturday at noon for game two of three against Baylor.
