No. 5 Cyclone Hockey took down No. 16 Midland 5-0 on Senior Night on Saturday at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

Although the game started off chippy, the Cyclones were not fazed by the Warriors in the shutout.

Tony Uglem and A.J. Gullickson did the scoring for the Cyclones as they went into the first intermission with a 2-0 lead.

It was more of the same in the second for the team, as Gullickson followed up with a second goal to extend the Cyclones’ lead to three.

The rough play also continued in the period, as three roughing calls surfaced in the 20 minutes alone. Nonethless, the Cyclones went into the third period leading 3-0.

In the third, Uglem, Cody VanThournout and Trevor Sabo scored for the Cyclones to extend the lead to six. VanThournout’s goal was his first as a Cyclone.
