Professional from South Korea to speak about nuclear physics

Sook Hyun Lee from Yonsei University in South Korea will be at Iowa State on Tuesday to discuss Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor technology, which is necessary for the advancement of “Excellent tracking capability and Distance of Closest Approach (DCA) resolution < 100 um,” according to the events calendar.

In addition to the MAPS technology that Lee impacted, the sPHENIX program also will be discussed, as well as how MAPS may affect sPHENIX. The sPHENIX program is designed to identify certain aspects that factor into jet operation.

The seminar will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in Physics Hall, room 18.
