Cyclone Hockey came into its matchup with No. 9 Jamestown looking to avoid its fourth straight loss, but that’s exactly what it found in a 4-2 loss.

The Cyclones and Jimmies were scoreless through the entire first period, each tallying a two-minute penalty.

In the second frame, Jamestown was the first to score, but the Cyclones were able to tie it up within a minute. The game was tied at one with 16 minutes to play in the second.

That’s when Jamestown got in its groove.

The Jimmies were able to score a shorthanded goal midway through the second and then another with two minutes remaining in the period.

The Cyclones were shorthanded right off the bat in the third period, as Kody Reuter received a charging call, and Jake Arroyo an interference, the team was skating 5-on-3 for two minutes.

Cyclone Hockey limited the damage of the two penalties, giving up just one goal during the five-minute charging major. Jake Uglem was also able to net a short-handed goal, trimming the Jamestown lead to 4-2 with 14 minutes to play.

It looked as though it gave the Cyclones a little bit of momentum, but they were not able to net another goal.
