For the seventh year in a row and eleventh time overall, the Iowa State women’s golf team has earned a spot in one of the four NCAA Regional Tournaments.

The Cyclones will be headed to Shoal Creek, Alabama, were they will be the No. 5 seed in the tournament. The tournament will start on Thursday, May 5 and will continue through Saturday, May 7.

Some of the other notable teams in the Cyclones tournament include No. 3 Alabama, No. 8 Oklahoma State and No. 11 Northwestern.

Iowa State just finished the Big 12 Conference Tournament, where they came in 4th place losing to the eventual champions and regional tournament competitor Oklahoma State.

At last year’s regional tournament, the Cyclones just missed the opportunity to go to the National Championship, coming in 10th place.

There will be a total of 18 teams in the regional tournament and the top six finishers will then move on to the NCAA National Championship Tournament. The last time the Cyclones went to the Championship Tournament was in 2014 where they finished in 23rd place.

Iowa State will start the tournament ranked nationally at No. 19 and with two golfers ranked inside the top-100, No. 57 Chayanit Wangmahaporn and No. 98 Celia Barquin.
