Thanks to great final rounds, the ISU women’s golf team was able to hold their second place spot on the leaderboard for the third consecutive day.

The Cyclones shot a final round score of 282 (-2) bringing their tournament total to 849 (-3). The third and final round marked the second time the Cyclones finished a round under par this tournament.

The team in first place to start the day was Northwestern and showed no sign of change throughout the round. The Wildcats started the day 15 strokes ahead of Iowa State and extended the lead to 21 strokes by the end of the tournament. Northwestern finished at 828 (-24) for the tournament.

Iowa State was led in scoring by sophomore Celia Barquin with a round total of 68 (-3). The Cyclones top finisher in the tournament was talented freshman Chayanit Wangmahaporn, who finished in 7th place and posted a final score of 211 (-2).

The team will now take a 2 week break from tournament play until they resume in Tucson, Arizona on March 18 for the Mountainview Collegiate.
