Iowa State softball (11-8) fell to Fordham 5-2 Sunday afternoon, after beating the team 11-3 Friday.

The rough weekend continued for the Cyclones, after losing three of the last four games, the Bears got to freshman Savannah Sanders for three runs in the 4th inning to take a 3-1 lead.

Emma Hylen pitched 3.2 innings in relief, but didn’t fare much better, allowing two runs in the 6th.

Fordham’s starter Rachel Gillen pitched well, allowing five Iowa State hits across seven innings of work. The Cyclone bats once again were unusually quiet, with senior Aly Cappaert collecting both RBI’s on Sunday.

Iowa State heads back to Ames with a disappointing 1-4 record on the weekend.
