Tips to having good hygiene

Finally winter is coming to an end, which means the temperature is going up. The hotter it is outside, the more likely you are to sweat. It is important to have good hygiene, not only for yourself, but for others around you. Nothing is worse than having bad odor in the middle of a huge lecture, even though sometime you can’t help it, there is something you can do to help.

Here are a few ways to have good hygiene:

Shower: Seems like a simple enough tip, but with the busy schedules college students have, some may forget. Even if you do not wash your hair everyday, it is a good idea to wash your body daily. Showering gets rid of the oils, sweat, and dirt that builds up on your skin.

Wear deodorant: It is easy, all you have to do is swipe a little deodorant underneath your arms and you are done. Some do not like all the chemicals that are in deodorant, but there are many natural remedies out there. There is a deodorant as easy as combing 3/4 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup baking soda, and 4-6 tbsp melted coconut oil.

Brush your teeth: Not only is it important for your teeth and gums health, but the people around you will appreciate it too.

Eat healthy: The saying “you are what you eat” is true even for the way you can smell! A diet full of onions and garlic will come out your pores and a produce a displeasing smell.

Clean clothes: Although it may seem obvious, but clean clothes play a major key in your overall odor. You don’t want to be walking around in the clothes you went to the gym in three days ago! Buying a nice fabric softener can add a nice scent to your clothes too.

Perfume or cologne: If you want an added scent to your natural musk, picking out a fragrance can spice up your daily routine!

Some think good hygiene is a no-brainer, but with the heat coming and the body odor becoming even more obvious because of it, it can only help to be reminded.
