Both Cyclone Hockey and Lindenwood Hockey enter this weekend’s matchup coming off of sweeping its opposing teams from the previous weekend.

Cyclone Hockey enters after sweeping the Robert Morris University Eagles. Lindenwood swept Illinois State.

Late into the first period at the 15:57 mark, a shot by forward Tony Uglem deflected off of fellow forward Colton Kramer, hitting the back of the net and putting the Cyclones up by one.

The second period progressed the same as the first. Though the next goal was a little different. At the 14:59 mark, the referees gave Cyclone Hockey another opportunity to score in the form of a penalty shot. Forward Adam Alcott took the the shot and scored, increasing the lead to 2-0.

With 2:26 left in the third period, Lindenwood cut the Cyclones lead in half with a goal from Stephen Bopp. But evidently the goal wasn’t enough as the Cyclones held on to win.

Cyclone Hockey and Lindenwood will face off again Saturday night at 4 p.m. for the second game of the weekend series.
