ISU women’s basketball freshman guard TeeTee Starks will undergo left knee surgery Wednesday to fix articular cartilage damage and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Starks will pursue a medical redshirt for this season and a definitive timetable for return will be determined after the surgery.

Starks had been dealing with a chronic knee issue all season, but ISU coach Bill Fennelly never released the extend of the injury. After falling to the court Sunday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Starks looked to be wincing but stayed in the game.

In limited playing time this season, Starks averaged 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. She has appeared in all nine games, starting five, and averaged 22.3 minutes.
