Cyclone Hockey stayed in Colorado but left Boulder for Fort Collins for the weekend series against Colorado State. The Cyclones got the series started on a high note with a 3-0 victory over the Rams on Friday night.

Trevor Sabo scored the opening goal for the Cyclones at the 6:36 mark in the first period.

Chase Rey and Alex Grupe picked up goals in the second period to finish off the Rams and end the night victorious.

Goaltender Matt Goedeke picked up another shutout on the season as he kept the Rams off of the scoreboard.

The Cyclones won but not without adversity. In both of last weekends games against Illinois, an Illinois player was ejected. In Friday nights game, Daniel Motrosic was ejected and assessed a five minute major penalty.

The two teams meet again on Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night in Fort Collins.
