Cyclone Hockey is making a habit of getting into games that last longer than regulation. On the first Thursday night game of the young season, the Cyclones lost 4-3 in overtime on the road against Colorado.

The Cyclones got on the board first thanks to a Colton Kramer goal at the 9:37 mark in the first period.

The next three goals, however, belonged to the Buffaloes. Andrew Bradford and John Nitchen scored power-play goals for Colorado, and Anders capitalized on a Cyclone turnover to give the Buffaloes a 3-1 lead at the end of the second period.

Then the comeback began. Aaron Azevedo scored to bring Cyclone Hockey within a goal before Colton Kramer netted his second goal of the game to knot the score at three.

In the five minute overtime of 4-on-4 play, the Cyclones were whistled for tripping, giving the Buffaloes a power play in which they capitalized on for the 4-3 win.

The Cyclones traveled to the University of Colorado for just one night. They now head to Colorado State to face off against the Rams in a two-game series on Friday and Saturday night.
